Wednesday Is Computer Day

The fourth graders were in the lab this morning touching up on their keyboarding skills. We use a software program which guides the students through the proper techniques. MVCA second graders also have computer class on Wednesdays.

Global Learners

The fourth graders completed their globe projects yesterday.

Fall Scavenger Hunt for MVCA

Today was the first day of autumn. What a perfect day to have a fall scavenger hunt along the Auld-Brokaw Trail! Five separate groups of MVCA students explored their assigned segment of the trail to find the fourteen items on their hunt list. It seems the reptile/amphibian category eluded all five groups. This scavenger hunt will be repeated on the first day of winter and spring to compare the "findings" for each season.

September's Chapel

Friday was not only the first chapel of the year, but also the first chapel ever for MVCA! We are so very grateful to Mr. Rodger Wenzlaff from Kingsway Christian Church here in Yankton for leading us in song and sharing a message with the students, staff, and parents.

The Whole World in Their Hands??

God has the whole world in His hands, but each MVCA fourth grader has a homemade replica of the world in his/her hands. The last couple weeks has seen them paper mache-ing over a balloon to get the round shape for their globes. Now they are adding the first layer of color - blue.

First Day of P.E.

Mr. Conkling was here this morning for the first session of p.e. class. Frisbees were flying in every direction on the south lawn.

A Slithering Show-n-Tell

One of our students brought in a baby bullsnake to show to the school. Frogs, toads, insects, snakes...what is next for special visitors at MVCA?

9/11/09

Today (9/11) at MVCA we had a special speaker. Mrs. Hansen, grandmother of one of our students and a registered nurse, spoke about staying healthy during this school year. Topics included hand washing, coughing/sneezing, and getting plenty of rest. Thank you Mrs. Hansen for your stop at MVCA!!
